Mindy Nelson-Oakes is the Treatment Courts Program Manager for Kitsap County District Court presently operating two therapeutic court programs, Behavioral Health Court and THRIVE, aimed at supporting those with mental health, trauma, and/or substance use disorders involved in the criminal justice system. She has been working with criminal justice involved adults for eight years, just recently relinquishing her dual role as the Probation Services Department Supervisor. Prior to her engagement with justice involved adults, Mindy spent ten years supporting individuals with mental health disorders, both inpatient and outpatient, as a mental health professional. She holds a master’s in forensic psychology services from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology and two bachelor’s degrees from Washington State University in psychology and criminal justice. She has been a member of the board since October 2021.
